Q: I don’t know what remote I need to order.

A: Finding the remote you need is simple. There are three basic things to check. First, look at your remote and find the brand name. Second, find the frequency in MHz on the back of your remote. Third, figure out how your remote is programmed. Open the back of the remote (often times you just need to slide off the battery cover). If you see a set of dip switches, then they program your remote. If there are no dip switches, then you have a programmable remote. Now all you have to do is find the brand on our site and look at the features of each remote listed.

Q: What if I can’t find the remote I use?

A: There are several knock-off brands that are made to be compatible with the original brand. Call us and we can help you find the right one. If it’s not a product that we are familiar with, we will track it down for you.

Q: One of my remotes was lost/stolen. Should I be worried? What do I need to do?

A: If you have programmable remotes, you can disable the lost one. You should refer to your product’s user guide for further instructions. If you have a dip switch programmable remote, simply change the setting of the dip switches on your remaining remotes. Be sure you also change the setting on your receiver. The receiver and remote’s settings must match.

Q: How do I program my new remotes?

A: Every remote is a little different. You should refer to your product’s user guide for further instructions.

Q: What are “dip switches”?

A: Remotes that have simpler programming in them use dip switches so that the end user can create a unique code for their own site. There are usually 8-12 dip switches in a set.
